Resting Rangers [Chip and Dale]

Nighttime was creeping over on this calm forest. Around there, there a tree. At that very tree, it was a special one. Unlike most trees, this one has a door with a star on it, engraved "Clarice'. At the front door were two girls who the famous chipmunks knew. A skin-color mouse in light orange hair, light sky blue eyes, and is dressed in a long light purple night dress that reaches close to her feet with white collars on it. She was carrying a luggage back that looks like backpack. Next to her was a pink bat with yellow eyes with blue pupils. She only carries a pillow that has a furry, fuzzy headband around it. There, they were waiting in the front, after Gadget knocked the door.

"Who is this..." the mouse begins to question, but turns to check that star, "...'CLARICE' anyway?"

The bat shrugged, "I dunno, Gadget! How could we ever go to some slumber party because some stranger sends us an anonymous message?"

"Well, as far as we know, it sez that whoever sent this letter hears a lot about us from Chip and Dale," Gadget explains. "I never knew those two boys met this person yet never tells us about this someone."

"I just hope whoever it is will be nothing more than a kind one," Foxglove sez.

Just then, the knob was being turned and pulled towards the entrance.

At the door stood the chipmunk Clarice. She had on a cute pink robe, which was open, showing a magenta pair of silk pajamas. She looked at the two outside her door and smiled broadly. "You must be Gadget and Foxglove! Come on in!"
Gadget and Foxglove entered the tree. Clarice said, "Please, make yourselves at home!" and pointed to her couch. Gadget and Foxglove sat down and got comfortable.
"Nice place you've got here," Gadget said.
"Yes," Foxglove said, "very homey."
"Well, it's not much, but it's home," Clarice said with a smile.
"So tell us," Gadget said, "How is it you know Chip and Dale?"
"So glad you asked," Clarice replied, sitting between the two. "Well, it all started when the two of them attended a performance of mine. They both fell for me, let's say." She giggled remembering that.

"You mean that..." Gadget replies questionably while being surprised.

"...you were their crush?" Foxglove finished her sentence, which she, too, was surprised.

Clarice giggled as she sez, "Oh, those boys are just easy to flirt. I was expecting them to meet me in a nightclub called Acorn Club. It's really a lovely yet exciting place to be."

"Acorn Club?" the girls begin to sound interested of this.

"Yes, that's the name," Clarice said as she seems to be coming out of the kitchen entrance with a bowl of popcorn and some sodas. "Would you girls be interested if you were in the club? They do have some empty slots left for two more performers." The two looked thrilled to hear that. They really want to try out singing and dancing on stage, just like her. Not only that, but to impress and allure their boyfriends to them just like what Clarice did.

"You girls want to watch a movie?" she asked them.

Gadget said, "Sure, we'd love to."
"What movie is it?" asked Foxglove.
Clarice brandished the DVD and announced the title, "Stumbleberry Finkbat!"
Gadget said, "That sounds like fun!"
Foxglove smiled and said, "Yeah, I like that franchise better than "Space Adventure!"
So Clarice popped the DVD into the player, and sat down to watch with them.

As the film plays on that television (same size for these small creatures), the screen brightens right in front of the girls. Gadget and Foxglove were sitting on the couch with their drinks and having popcorn in the middle. For Clarice, she is laying on her belly with her hands on her cheeks, sipping her beverage. As they watched, it was quite of a sight, kind of like horror and fantasy together.

As they watch minutes later then, sometimes they begin to chitchat back and forth. "So, how did you two first met Chip and Dale?" Clarice asks. Gadget and Foxglove were in a thinking position.

Gadget was first to speak, "Well, I first met Chip and Dale when Monty brought them to Geegaw's in search of an lost plane. Not to mention that my father was an inventor." Clarice eyes widened to hear that. "Your father can build things? How sweet." "Yeah, it sure was..." Gadget said until a frown came in, "until my father died." Clarice's smile didn't last long when she heard that. "I'm sorry..." she responded sympathetically. "That's alright," Gadget smiled again, "And that is when I decided to join the boys."

"How wonderful!" Clarice said, "You had to show me some of your best contraptions one of these days." She then goes to Foxglove. "What about you, Foxglove?" Foxglove begins proudly, "Well, I used to work for that evil witch wannabe, Winifred, who had irritable snake named Bud, and a stupid spider named Lou. However, when I bump onto Dale, I seem to...." She blushes as she answers, "fall for him." The girls awed for her. "But with Winifred, there is nothing about her nor her minions. So I had to give it up with a fight and be with Dale."

"You got a very noble, big heart, Foxy," Clarice smiled warmly.

Just then, the movie was finally nearing on the credits. When it did, the girls were cheering.
Gadget said, "I liked when Stumbleberry saved the princess from the goblin army!"
"That was good," Foxglove said, "but my favorite part would have to be the scene with the singing trees."
"Well, I think..." Gadget started to say when WHAM! a pillow hit her in the face, nearly knocking her to the floor. Clarice stood up, brandishing another pillow and saying, "Who's up for a pillow fight?"


Just then, a pillow shot behind Clarice's back of the head. She looks behind her, noticing that it was Foxglove who did it. Just then, she turns back to Gadget, but in surprise, a pillow "floofed" onto her face. She hears Gadget and Foxglove giggling. The chipmunk smiled slyly as she cooed, "Oooh, it's on!" That was then, a battle has been joined!

Gadget, Foxglove, and Clarice were in a pillow fighting spree. Foxglove uses her feet to hold the pillow while she hovers with her wings to avoid any hits. When the aiming and the timing is precise, she swaps them. Gadget, who would usually have machines with her in something like a fight, didn't mind using bare hands. She would use the pillow to trip down her enemies. Even hitting underneath the couch and any other furniture. For Clarice, as a chipmunk, climbs onto the walls of her living room, looking down. She takes her pillow and then pounces on her enemies from above, yelling, "DOGPILE!" Onward and onward, those girls continue to roughhouse.

Just then, the good 15 minutes of a good pillow fight ceased. The girls were covered with small bits of cotton that were used for stuffing inside the pillows, like feathers. They were on the pile of cotton, laughing like it was so funny or it was a wonderful fight. The place was a bit of a mess with the popcorn bowl capsized and one of the empty sodas were scattered across (not made of class, mind you).

"Golly...." Gadget hooted her famous catchphrase, "That was fun!" "Really!" Foxglove agreed as she pants for breaths, chuckling closely. "I had quite a blast," Clarice admits.

That was then, Clarice stretches her arms as she makes a big yawn. Due to folks saying that yawning is contagious, the girls, too, yawned. "Well, I think now would be the right time for me to go asleep." Clarice said happily, looking sleepy-eyed. "Agreed," the two respond in unison.

Clarice gathers up the cotton that was from the pile to stuff her pillow again. She takes off her robe and rests on the couch. Using her own robe as like a blanket and with a small bit of cotton to surround her warmly. Gadget pulls out a sleeping that was hidden inside the pillowcase from her own pillow. She places her sleeping bag down and gets in, nuzzling her head onto the pillow. As for Foxglove, since she's a bat, she looks around to find something to hang onto. She looks up and notices a twig emerging from the ceiling. She wears her fuzzy headband that connects to her pillow and flies up to that twig. When she grasped that twig with her feet, she adjusts her headband to make sure it's tight enough so it would slip out of her head while being upside down. Wrapping her wings around like a blanket, she nestles up.

"Goodnight, girls," Clarice said as the humble darkness of the night took over. "Good night, Clarice," the others said as the whole room was filled with cute snores...
