Description
Fun Fact: Folks wonder about the origin of that famous Nursery Rhyme:
“Humpty Dumpty sat on the fall, Humpty Dumpty had a great fall, All the king’s horses and all the king’s men, Couldn’t put Humpty together again.”
In the original version, Humpty wasn’t an egg. That popular culture existed when Lewis Carroll wrote Alice Through the Looking Glass depicting Humpty as a living egg with a human face. What folks say about Humpty was that Humpty Dumpty (let’s just call H.D for short) was some huge cannon that was in service during the English Civil War ( August 22, 1642 – September 3rd, 1649). During this reign of battle, H.D remains at the church of St Mary-at-the-Wall by the Royalist defenders in the blockade of Colchester. Just then, a Parliamentary cannon shot the wall, which was right underneath H.D, causing it to fall down. Sadly, the Kings men tried to bring it back up, but it was too heavy to go back to its place. On 1797, that is when the Nursery Rhyme came to existed....
And because of this history behind it, I was inspired to draw a cannon with Isaac always love to keep at his side. He names this blue (and rednecked) cannon: HUMPTY DUMPTY II (or H.D.II or HUMPTY DUMPTY JUNIOR. ‘Jr.’ or H.D.Jr.) Because of any possible danger or suspicious, Isaac would feel like being prepared for a conflict or a battle. He might be fun, happy, and silly, but there will be times when he gets overboard. Either that or if something aggravates him or worries him, he’ll go out of whack. He would become eccentric. I understand that he looks more crazy than eccentric. That's why I made him say Neapolitan instead of Napoleon just to make him sound crazy or too silly. (I used to thought Neapolitan ice cream was because of Napoleon Bonaparte). He ends up wearing his bicorn and becomes a threat or a dramatic canine.
That was why he was knocked out by Dulcibelle….
I was thinking of giving Isaac this kind of trait, too, to go along with his character traits…
I even decided to place the numbers 1 7 96 (or 17 / 96 ) as part of the design or a number, based on the year that Humpty Dumpty rhyme existed....
