A Reluctant Black Cat

That’s right! Today is Friday the Thirteenth (13th)! And not to mention that Yom Kipper is on this day, too! So I decided to combine them all together to make up this cartoon!

Here, you have a black cat who is minding his business and all of the sudden, Mario Mouse noticed him! Mario reacts for the fact that black cats are bad luck! That black cat didn’t know what was up with him at first! Then he understands what was up with Mario! He explains that he is only doing his for a job and all it did was effecting the reputation of cats like him! But because that today is not just the 13th of Friday, but the day of Yom Kipper (a Jewish holiday which mostly focuses on atonement and repentance) as well! He now sez that he wants to retire from this and go off to where Yom Kipper is being held! He then leaves the still confused mouse while that black cat goes the other way and leaves…

And I thought this was one of the splendid (even though it’s all drawn in pencil) and a passionate comic I’ve ever done, especially on some religious day!

I noticed that today is also 20th Anniversary of ANIMANAICS, created by Steven Spielberg and Tom Ruegger! Happy 20 years, Warners!
